Right Round

Hey everyone, I'm back today with a new LO for JustNick.   I used the brand new Reflex cut file and I went totally out of my comfort zone and used black cardstock!  Gasp!  I always use white! LOL  When I saw this cut file I was immediately inspired.  To me it looked like sound waves.  I had these fun photos of my daughter playing DJ hero on the wii.  It was perfect with this cut file!

The cut file is so fabulous I hardly needed to do anything else to my LO.  I just added a few embellishment and I was done!  Here's a closer look!

Our home and native land

Hey everyone, somehow my July 1st blog post disappeared on me!  Well here it is again.  I had so much fun creating this LO for A Flair For Buttons.  I love how something as simple as one button can inspire a whole LO!

I loved these Canadian flair buttons and I knew I wanted to do a Canada Day LO with this photo from last summer.  I used Pink Paislee Sweet Freedom.  I love how it turned out!

Have you checked out the AFFB store lately?  It truly has everything.  I can't even think of a theme they don't have!

Happy shopping!

Happy

Hey everyone, I'm so happy to share my first DT LO for JustNick!  I am so very happy to have been chosen to be a part of this team filled with such talented ladies!  As I was looking through the store to figure out what file I wanted to use for my first project, I was actually thinking of doing a boy LO but as soon as I saw the Delicate Butterflies my whole planned changed!  I knew I had to use it!

I'm not normally a butterfly and flowers type person but something about this cut file just called out to me.  I knew I had that photo of my daughter holding the butterfly and it was just perfect for this file.
Here's a close up so you can see how delicate and pretty this file is!

Sun & Fun

Hey everyone!  I'm back today with a new summer inspired LO!  My favorite thing about summer (other than the weather), is all the photo opportunities!  We are always out doing something fun and of course I always have my camera handy just in case!

This photo was just a quick snapshot of my daughter enjoying the water on the first hot summer day last year.  She is always up for anything!

I actually picked out the flair I wanted to use before I picked out anything else for this LO so the whole LO is based on those.  Then I added some gelatos, a free cut file from Paper Issues and some new Echo Park.  The whole LO came together very fast!

Better together

Hey everyone, it's new issue day at Paper Issues.  This month it's called Mom-o-grams.  Some suggested ideas are: create an altered paper project, use letters in a fun way, add a monogram, anything about Mother’s Day or grandmothers.

I used some letters to create the BFF background.  I just cut them out on my cardstock and backed it with a colorful pattern paper!  I used the Bella Blvd/Illustrated Faith You Are Loved collection.

You can see more ideas for this issue on the Paper Issues blog and in the Friends and Fans Facebook group!

Little boy don't ever grow up

Hey everyone, we have a new Notable Quotable challenge at Paper Issues today!  This one is super fun!!!

I was inspired by the quote, the colors and the paint splatters!  I used a variety of products on this LO including the new Bella Blvd in the store!  This is one of my favorite photos of my son.  I cant believe he is already 15 years old.

You can play along with the challenge on our FB group Paper Issues Friends and Fans.

Love this place

Hey there, today I have a LO for one of our new challenges at Paper Issues called Working Title.  This month the challenge is to add some bling/sparkle to your title.  I used some gold word thickers and the Fancy Pants Golden Days collection. I also used a free cut file from the Paper Issues store.

I took this photo last summer while we were on vacation in beautiful Prince Edward Island last summer.  If you've never been there add it to your bucket list, it is absolutely beautiful!

Happy & So Very Beautiful

Hey everyone, it's time for a new Product Spotlight at Paper Issues! This week we're using the Little by Little collection from Shimelle.  I absolutely the colors in this collection.  It's also so versatile, it can easily be used for boy or girl LO's!

This gorgeous chevron paper was calling my name as soon as I saw it so I created my LO around it. I'm definitely an embellishment girl.  American Crafts always has a lot of embellishments with their collections.  It makes is so easy to create a fast LO.

Check out the Paper Issues blog to see what the rest of the team created.  You can still get this collection in the Paper Issues store.  You can also get 20% off your whole order with the code michelle.

I'm a guest at JustNick!

Hey everyone!  I was so excited to be asked to guest over at JustNick this month.  I adore using cut files!  Whenever I'm struggling to get a LO started I just scroll through my file downloads and I always find inspiration there.

My first project was made using the spirograph cut file.  To make it easier on myself, I also cut all the negative spaces on my cameo with pattern paper.  Then I just had to glue them in place.  This LO really didn't need much after that, just a few embellishments and a title.

I absolutely love the colors in this Pink Paislee/Paige Taylor Evans Take Me Away collection!

For my next LO I wanted to use a fun and bright design to go with these selfies of my daughter.  One of the biggest perks of having a teen girl is stealing all the selfies she takes! lol  I went with the scallop background file.

Seriously though, how fun is this cut file?  It's going to be ones of those cut files I use over and over!

This cut file is free for the month of February.  Just use the code SCALLOPFREE at checkout!

Sketch time

Paper Issues has so many challenges every month.  One of my favorite challenges is the sketch challenge.  Look at the great one we have this month!

I decided to flip it.  I had so much fun making this LO.  I love this photo of my son when he was little.  Look at that little face!!  I used the Crate Paper Cool Kid collection.  I love adding a lot of bits and pieces to my LO's!

The Paper Issues store has just been filled with so many new collections!  Check it out and get 20% off your whole order with the code michelle.

February Notable Quotable

Hey everyone!  Today I'm sharing a recent LO I created for Paper Issues.

This one was created for one of our new challenges (hosted by me) called Notable Quotable.  It's really easy to play along.  You just need to create a project using this quote as inspiration.

Here is what I came up with. I was inspired by the quote, the colors and the arrow!  I used a mixture of Amy Tangerine products on this LO.  Cut file is from the Silhouette store.

Make sure to join our FB group (Paper Issues Friends and Fans) to see and play along with all our monthly challenges.

Also you may want to ckeck out the Paper Issues store.  SO much has been added in the last few weeks including a huge selection of free cut files!

My fave

Hey everyone, Paper Issues has their first Issue of 2017 posted today.  It's called Stash Busters.  Here are some suggested ideas:

  • It's a new year, so make a dent in your stash! What are you hoarding? Is it an old collection? Is there a paper you think is too pretty to cut into? Do you have embellishments you haven't even opened? Get to work creating a project that includes something you haven't used yet or finishes off a collection by using up the scraps.
  • Show us anything about your New Year's celebrations.
  • Scrap a photo of yourself.
I decided to use some Bella Blvd Addison that I was hoarding. I was also hoarding these fun photos of my daughter at Halloween!

You can see what the other team members created on the Paper Issues blog!
