My top 16 of 2016!

Here we are again.  Another year has already gone by.  I always look forward to posting my favorite LO's of the year.  It's hard to choose because some of my favorite may not be because of the way they look but for the memory of the photos.  Time is so precious, I'm so happy that I decided to start scrapbooking 10 years ago.  These memories are all so important, even just the simple everyday things.  I hope my kids and future grandkids will enjoy looking at my albums one day.

So here they are, my favorite LO's of 2016!

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh so cold!

Hey everyone!  It's new issue day at Paper Issues!  It's called Going Cold Turkey in Snow-vember!

Here are some suggested ideas: Thanksgiving, family time, winter, use snowflakes or snow photos, create a white on white layout, use the new Snow and Cocoa collection (or any fall/winter collection available in the store), men's facial hair (celebrating Movember)

I decided to go with a snow team using the Snow and Cocoa collection. I also used a free cut file from the store to create my background.

You can see what the team created on the blog!

Go team!

Hey everyone, here's a LO I created for the Let's Go For The Gold issue at Paper Issues.

I was really excited to be part of this issue because I hadn't scrapped this photo yet.  My son's hockey team had such an amazing season last winter.  They were undefeated in our district, won 3 tournaments, district champions, competed in the zones to win a spot to provincials, and finally won silver medals at provincials!!!  Such a big accomplishment for such a small hockey team!

You can see more inspiration for this issue on the Paper Issues blog!

Best times ever

It's sketchy Saturday at Paper Issues!  This is one of my favorites sketches ever!  As soon as I saw that big star I was sold!

This sketch was screaming boy LO at me so I used a photo of my son having fun in the pool.  I love to watch my kids playing!

Vroom vroom

Hey everyone, it's time for another Take 5 challenge at Paper Issues.  This is one of my favorite challenges at Paper Issues.  Here's the list for this month:

I always end up using more than 5!  lol   My son doesn't like the camera so when I get an opportunity to take some fun photos of him I go for it and take as many as I can.  This one is from an amusement park.

To be continued

Hey everyone, we have a new issue at Paper Issues today!  It called Gleam Catchers.  Suggested theme ideas: Anything shiny (glitter, mist, sequins, silver, gold, metals, etc.), use stars as embellishments or the word “star” in your title, dream catchers, Southwestern design, baseball, photos that show the catch lights (gleam) in the subject’s eye, 4th of July/patriotic...

I focused on the shiny!

Best friends forever

Hey everyone, there's a new cut file at Paper Issues today!  It's a fun one! I decided to use it as a background for my LO.  I really do love this technique.

These photos from my daughter and her 2 best friends make me happy.  I wish I could go back to being 12 years old...maybe just for a day though!  lol

Dream

Hey everyone!  There's a new cut file at Paper Issues today!  Did you know that all the cut files at Paper Issues are free!!!  You can find them all here!

I love playing with cut files.  I cut this one out to bring to a crop with me.  I had no plan on what I would do with it.  When I took it out I just started  cutting out some random pieces just to create a different look.  Here's what I ended up with!

Beach fun

Hey everyone, Paper Issues is putting the spotlight on the Beach day collection from Carta Bella today.  I love the bright colors of this collection.  It was such a fun collection to work with!

The photo on this LO is from 2006!!  Seriously, how did my sweet little boy grow up so fast?  He's still sweet but not so little anymore!  lol

I did cut some scallop strips to make a beach wave effect on my LO.  After I added the big title all that was needed was a few embellishments and I was done!

My crew

Hey everyone, have you seen one of our new challenges at Paper Issues called take 5?  It's so much fun!!!  We give you a list of items and you need to pick at least 5 to add to your LO.  Easy right?  Here is the list for this month:

I always end up with more than 5 on my LO.  This month I used the color yellow, the color white, the color blue, pattern paper, doodling, sticker, cardstock, die cut, ink, and a flower.  I used the gorgeous Fancy Free collection from Pink Paislee.  I so regret only buying one sheet of each of these papers.  This will be one of those collections I use up to the very last bit!

I don't scrap about myself very much but last month I went to a spa weekend with 5 of my high school friends.  We were celebrating because we are all turning 40 this year! I am so blessed to have these girls in my life!!

Paper Issues is constantly updating the store with new items.  Make sure to check often!  You can get 20% off with the code michelle!

Poolside fun

Hey everyone, there's a new issue at Paper Issues and I know you will love it.  It's called Let's Get Knot-ical.  Suggested theme ideas: anything you can do on the water (water skiing, boating, tubing, cruises, whale watch, etc.); use a compass, ship’s wheel, sailboat or ocean creatures as embellishments; add knots to your project, whether you use ribbon, twine or other fibers; beach vacations; Father’s Day... The possibilities are endless.

I have so many beach and pool photos I knew what I wanted to scrap when I saw the tubing suggestion. My son doesn't like to get his photo taken but once in a while he cooperates and I make sure to take a lot. This was taken 2 summers ago at my sister in law's house. He is growing so fast!

Don't forget to post your project in our facebook group for a chance to win a prize!

Where did May go?

It seems like May just started and it's already over.  I thought for sure that once hockey was over I would have so much more free time.  I was very wrong!  lol  These teenagers of mine seem determined to make my life as busy as possible!!

I did get a chance to get a few LO's done for Paper Issues last month.   This first LO was made with the free cut file.  Did you know Paper Issues has a new free cut file every month?  Make sure to check them out in the store.  I really loved the triangles in this one.  I used form Fancy Pants Attwell for my LO.

My next LO was for the sketch challenge.  I used a mixture of Bella Blvd products on this one.

We only had one product spotlight for the month of May.  We used the beautiful She Blooms collection from Illustrated Faith.  I absolutely love this collection!

And my last one is a LO I did using all Crate Paper products.  I have a huge stash of Crate Paper, I really enjoyed making this one.

I love this photo of my son.  I can't believe I already have a teenager!!  As you can see I used a lot of embellishments on my LO.  There was just so much to choose from I wanted to use a bit of all of it!  I also used a free cut file from the Paper Issues store on my LO!

Simple Stories Love!

Hey everyone, we have a new Product Spotlight at Paper Issues today.  Because Simple Stories is so fabulous and we couldn't just choose one collection, we decided to spotlight both the Life in Color and the Carpe Diem collections.

For my first LO I used the Life in Color collection.  This collection is so bold with the red and teal!  I love this photo of my daughter.  It's just a quick phone photo I snapped last summer when we were out for lunch.  She looks so grown up!  I also used a free cut file from Paper Issues on this LO!

My Carpe Diem LO came together quickly.  I knew I wanted to use those adorable frames on my LO. After that I just needed to add a few embellishments and it was done.  This is an older photo of my daughter.  She was about 8 years old here.  I miss the days of taking her to the park to play!

You can find these collections in the Paper Issues store.  Get 20% off with the code michelle!

Summer Love!

Hey everyone, We have a new product spotlight today at Paper Issues using the Happy Place collection from Dear Lizzy!  This collection is so summery and fun to work with!

I had a tough start to my LO.  Nothing seemed to fall in place.  I couldn't find the right photo and then what I had in mind just didn't look right.  So I started over and got the whole LO done in about 30 minutes.  That is almost a record for me!  Sometimes you just have to walk away for a bit to see it better.  Know what I mean?
